Choir Boys Productions is an award-winning provocative theatre collective presenting genre-bending and imaginative original work.
Co-founded by Josh Stainer, Meg Bowron, Ned Blackburn and Lizzie Hawke during their time at the University of Manchester, Choir Boys Productions has continually sought to interrogate social norms through their work, igniting the imaginations of their audiences and broadening perspectives.
From the intimate, domestic tragedy Bad Traffic which blurred the lines between naturalism and non-naturalism, to the slapstick, fast-paced Manchester Revue’s Lonely Heart’s Sketch Club, the company have a wide and varied approach, unafraid to break the boundaries of genre, and deliver ground-breaking original productions.
Their most recent production An Adequate Abridgement of Boarding School Life as Homo has garnered the most critical acclaim, earning numerous 5-star reviews from major publications, an extension to their debut run at the Edinburgh Fringe, and the 2024 Broadway Baby Bobby Award.
