Today is the day.
Kat wakes up, she says goodbye to her husband and daughter and gets the train into London to commit an act of rebellion that will change her life forever. In constant dialogue with the personified Voice in her head, we follow Kat’s morning over the course of her journey towards Parliament Square where she plans to self-immolate. Fritz’s play is a high-pressure theatrical time bomb, a searing exploration of political activism’s raw complexities.
Parliament Square is a provocative protest drama that explores the weight of individual responsibility, the burden of influence, and the cost of taking a stand. It’s a tug-of-war between loyalty to others and the unyielding pull of duty to oneself—a gripping portrayal of a woman pushed to the brink, her every decision an act of rebellion against both her world and her own heart.
